As Scottish Environment LINK Bat Nature Champion, it was fantastic to find out more about our local city bats, particularly Soprano Pipistrelles, at St Margaret’s Loch in Holyrood Park.

I really enjoyed listening to different bat species flying around the loch.

I look forward to raising more awareness of bat education, in particular, the need for more research on the impact of climate change on local bat populations.

I look forward also to working more in the future on how we can best protect local bat populations in Edinburgh and the Lothian region.

Thank you to the Bat Conservation Trust‘s Scottish Bat Officer, Claudia Gebhardt.
